Cake Day!

Daniel and I went cake tasting today. :-) (One of the more fun wedding tasks, I have to admit.)We had an appointment with Exclusive Cakes by Nancy Ray. First, we went over the details of what we want the cake to look like. And then we did the best part, we got to taste several different types of her cakes. Our favorite was rum cake with rasberry filling.

We both really liked the square cake with the squares offset (please see bottom picture). Our cake will be two tiered, with black ribbons instead of the cream ribbons as seen in the top picture. I will find silver broaches to accent the cake like the one on the left also, keeping it similiar to the picture, but square. :-)

Horsing Around...

Horsing around-yes, even in the middle of all the phone calls to vendors, scheduling appointments, going to appointments, decisions, and wedding cake tastings (yeah, tough stuff here), we managed to find some time to horse around with my parents-both literally and figuratively.

Check out my dad's awesome photography skills on this pix! The horse's poor ears! See, he knew what was important and what not to cut out!! Thanks for the great steak dinner Mom and Dad!!
